Hello
“I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream.”

You may have heard the name Vincent van Gogh, but do you know his story?
Vincent van Gogh lived a short, intense life that deeply influenced modern art, even though he wasn’t widely recognized while he was alive.
He was born in 1853 in the Netherlands and tried several careers early on, including working as an art dealer and a missionary. In his late 20s, he decided to focus fully on art. Over about 10 years, he created more than 2,000 works, including famous paintings like Starry Night and Sunflowers.
Van Gogh struggled with poverty and serious mental health issues throughout his life. He often relied on financial and emotional support from his brother, Theo van Gogh. During one crisis, he famously cut off part of his own ear.
In 1890, at age 37, he died from a gunshot wound, widely believed to be self-inflicted. Only after his death did his work gain major recognition, eventually making him one of the most famous and influential artists in history.
